The Prequel:
Well, to be honest, I had always wanted to try mushrooms. They are quite difficult to get around here, so when they do come around, they sell out very quickly. About two weeks ago I missed out on them because I was in the hospital to see my grandma when my friend found someone who got them. When I got home and called him, he said the kid was sold out already. I was very disappointed. Well the kid got more and I finally got my own eighth and was extremely enthusiastic about doing them. My one friend told me that I was obsessed with them because I talked about doing it so much. I guess browsing through the bluelight forums for so long gave me a great desire to take a stab at psychedelics. I tried to plan out everything and I wanted the experience to be as enjoyable as possible.
Chapter 1: Ingestion
Well, at about 4:30 pm yesterday, my friend C calls me and says that he wanted to trip, which we had planned to do earlier that day. He had eaten 2/3 of an eighth from the previous shipment, so he knew what to expect and really wanted to do them again. My other friend T, who had done an eighth before of some very high quality shrooms and bugged out like crazy, also had his own eighth and wasn’t sure if he was going to do them with us. Well we called him up and he really didn’t want to, so we said fuck it we’ll just do them without anyone else. So he comes over and I get my shit, and we go to his car. He told me to eat them now since he was driving and didn’t care if I started tripping, so I ate them at about 5:15. I had a whole eighth and my friend told me I probably wouldn’t need it all, so I ate about half of it. We then drove to his house, and he went inside, and came back out. We weren’t sure about where we would do them so we decided to leave the car at a park near my house, and just walk around and see where the trip took us. I had then realized that I had eaten myself full from pizza no more than an hour before, so it would take me a while to actually feel anything from the mushrooms.
C ate his whole eighth in the parking lot of the park at about 5:40, and we started walking down the road. My friend then realized it would get cold and he would need a jacket, so he went back to his car to get one. I didn’t feel like following him, but got bored and ran back to catch up with him. He said he had another jacket, which I was happy about, so I went to his car and put the jacket over my hoodie. We then started walking down the road. We strongly agreed not to drive at all, since we knew it’d be dangerous.
Chapter 2: Nothing but lack of patience
C had eaten his eighth on an empty stomach, and claimed the last time he did them, he started getting euphoric effects within 20 minutes of ingestion. Well, while walking down the road, he said he had a little nausea. He was happy about this because the last time he had done shrooms, the effects started happening right after the nausea, and of course he was right. He had a smile on his face about 5 minutes after he said he a stomach ache, and I was jealous. I didn’t feel anything.
We decided to start walking into the woods. We wanted to get to the top of the hill we were near in time for the sunset, so we hurried. My friend could barely keep up because he was starting to feel the effects of the mushrooms, and I was mad because I didn’t feel anything. We saw a big rock we wanted to sit on, so we started walking toward it. On the way to the rock, we came across a chain-linked fence, which we were disappointed to see. We found a collapsed portion of the fence, and went past it to the rock we sought to sit on. On the way toward the rock we saw a deer skull, and my friend claimed more bones were littering the ground on the way to the rock. My friend then said that he needed to sit down, and we just had a seat on a rock on the ground.
C was starting to get some euphoria and he had a smile on his face. I realized that we had missed the sunset, but that didn’t seem to matter. My friend C started slipping into trippiness while I just sat there. I focused on objects, hoping to get visual distortions, but nothing happened. I thought I had a hallucination, but it was just traffic from route 80 that was far away. My friend kept telling me not to worry, but I was very impatient.
I then said we should get up and walk around, so we did and started walking deeper into the woods. We then came across another fence. I tried to get around it, but my friend said not to. I agreed, and said we should just walk along it. I tried to focus on things occasionally, and still nothing happened. My friend, on the other hand, was starting to get some vision distortion. I was quite jealous. We then looked at the time and it was only 6:23. It felt like we had been wondering the woods for at least an hour, so we were quite surprised.
While walking along the fence, we talked about society, and the fences it built around us. We disagreed with controlling people like this, and finally found an opening in the fence. We walked through and I was kind of worried about going on. There was lots of brush and I didn’t feel like having to walk through it. My friend, who was coming up, thought we should go on anyway. I was still not feeling anything and decided to eat the about 1/3 of what was left in my bag of shrooms. We then proceeded into the woods, and it was much easier to go through then I had first thought.
After some distance we came across a path. I urged to take it, but my friend pressed forward without giving it a second thought. I hesitantly followed.
While continuing to hike, we came across the same path again, and my friend agreed to take it this time. As we walked forward, we came into an open area with a few bushes here and there. My friend really liked the spot, and being that he was tripping, I decided to walk around the area with him.
We walked further and came across another open area. My friend then claimed that this was the best spot in the world, and thoroughly suggested coming back for his next trip. He claimed the grass looked like waves of color, but I didn’t see anything. We then walked around, and my friend came to a halt in front of a broad, leafless tree. He said the tree was dancing, and decided to lean into a nearby tree. I looked at my cellphone and noticed it was only 6:55. That whole walk took only 30 minutes! Here he literally sat on the braches of a small tree by leaning onto it. I was amazed at how he could do that, but was still disappointed about not seeing anything. After a little while, I looked at my friends face. It looked as though someone was changing the tint knob of my vision as his face shifted from red to green to black-and-white to purple and then back to red in that cycle. I knew the effects were starting to kick in and was started to get happy about it.
Chapter 3: Coming up and walking out
We both got up, and I tried to mimic how my friend had sat on the tree like that, and found it very comfortable. We then started walking around, and my friend took off his jacket and threw it on the ground. We walked around and gazed at the stars, talking about how looking at the light from stars was looking at the past. My friend was tripping quite hard and I was just starting to feel something. I then noticed the fractal patterns of tree branches and tried to point it out to my friend. He seemed less than interested, and started walking away from the open area back onto the path that led us there to begin with. He then remembered he had forgotten his jacket, and wanted to just leave it. I told him we should go look for it. We had no idea where to look but then my friend had stepped on it. It looked like a large flower lying on the ground and I told him to leave it there because it was so pretty, but he didn’t. I also noticed some very interesting patterns on the ground. Little white leaves mixed with grass and other stuff on the ground formed a design similar to that of some cheap linoleum flooring.
Now that I had started to hallucinate and change my frame of thought, I was pretty satisfied. I kept feeling better and better as we walked further. As I stared down the path, it seemed like the branches of the small trees bordering it had formed an arch made for me to walk through. I pressed on, leading the way because C was so into the trip he could hardly keep up. We then came across what appeared to be some kind of fissure in the ground. It looked quite frightening, so I was very hesitant to go near the massive line through the earth, but C seemed drawn to its mystery. Upon closer inspection, we discovered it was just a long line of rocks. Why they were there we did not know, but they were most definitely put there by humans.
On our journey went, and a new hallucination began to take hold. While looking at the leaves and branches of bushes, I saw a screen of little cell like structures with dots inside. I found it very interesting and knew it was from the chain linked fences we had encountered earlier. We came across an old party spot, complete with two benches and a fire pit. C found it just incredible that somebody went through the trouble of moving two benches that far into the woods and I just laughed. C then dropped his coat and starting wondering past the party area in the abyss that was nighttime. I was quite scared to press on, afraid of what could be lurking in the woods, but felt compelled to follow him because I was not in the mood to be alone.
C was most definitely at his peak experience at this time, and I was also starting to come up more and more. While navigating bushes and trees, my friend noticed the white things on the ground. These were the leaves that previously formed a pattern for me, and they did the same thing again this time around. I cursed the little white things for always being around and feared they would imprison us. I got much joy out of stomping up and down on them.
Continuing our hike, I decided to light a cigar, and find it quite difficult to get it lit. I gazed up at the previously undistorted sky and noticed that I was most definitely hallucinating. Trails were made by my eye movements, and I found Orion to be particularly beautiful. I noticed the three stars on his belt were bouncing up and down like the bouncing ball from childhood sing-a-longs. I laughed and said “Wow, this is incredible.”
We then came across a group of trees. They were black in the night sky and no more than 15 feet tall. My friend walked in between a group of them and I followed. I claimed that the trees were looking toward the sky, watching out for anything that would bring us danger. I thanked the trees and we pressed forward.
Far into the distance past the trees the lights of cars on route 80 interested me. The lights blurred in one long line and it looks like a train of light in the distance. C yelled “come over here, I found a hole,” and I went to go see what was up. Sure enough, it was a hole, no more than 1 foot below the surface. C said “step in it.” I refused and told him I would spit in it. I did, we both laughed for a bit, and kept going on.
It was at that time we made up our minds to head into my development and go to my friend P’s house, since he was having a party that night and I knew a bunch of other people would be there. We followed the lights that we assumed were my development, and it was becoming increasingly difficult to get through the forest. I came across a small slope and warned C that we were on the edge of a cliff, and that caution was necessary. I then jumped down, unharmed, and C followed. The lights were getting brighter and we could see the headlights of cars driving down the road beyond the edge of the woods. We pressed on and openings in the forest allowed me to see a building in the distance.
I ran through the woods, going through brush and bushes, and occasionally getting hit in the face with a branch or two. C was far behind, dilly-dallying in his state of confusion. I then saw that the building in front of us was the municipal building of my development and yelled that we weren’t even close to P’s house. C yelled back and I couldn’t really hear him.
The only thing separating me from the road was a thick line of pricker bushes. I decided to go through them as quickly as possible and instantly got stuck. I was trapped! The more I struggled, the more prickers grabbed onto my coat. So many were on my hood I couldn’t even move my head. I had to be tough, so I just kept pushing through. More prickers kept pulling me, but I overcame and finally emerged out of the woods on to the road. I was out, but I sure couldn’t say the same about C.
Chapter 4: Not a very good idea
As I watched C struggle to get out of the woods, I decided to eat the last of my mushrooms. C yelled “NO!” and offered to pay me for the little bit that was left. I yelled back that I didn’t want to, and ate what remained.
Finally, C was out and we were unsure of what to do. P’s was more than a mile away, but C’s car was not far at all. In our altered mindset, we decided that driving would be faster, which was nonetheless a bad idea. We had agreed so thoroughly on not driving, but while tripping, that didn’t seem to matter.
As we walked down the road out of the back of my development, we got great pleasure out of walking downhill. The hard cement felt soft on our trippin’ feet, and we agreed that maybe manmade things weren’t so bad. The road I had been so familiar with seemed so strange to me now, and I gazed at passing cars as they drove by.
We reached the road behind my development, which was what the park we left the car in was on. As we walked and stopped occasionally, we realized this place was so alien. We had both lived in the area for over 15 years, and everything seemed like some distant, far-off land. Cars passed and we just stood there on the side of the road, watching the headlights like deer as each one drove by.
After many false attempts at finding the road to the park, we finally reached our destination, and saw the car in the parking lot. I wanted to roll down a small hill, but it was much too cold and we decided to get into the car. I noticed that a fenced area closed during the day was now open. I yelled “Gates are opening for us, just like in the woods!” and my friend laughed. My friends 4Runner seemed so wide and low to the ground, much like a station wagon, and I found it quite amusing. We got into the car and both immediately drank what was left of a water bottle in his car. Mad that we were out of water, we wanted to get out of there as soon as possible.
C started the car and we just sat there listening to music. I wanted to put the Doors on, so I did, and our driving adventure began.
I was amazed at how strange everything seemed, and wondered how in the hell C could be driving. He said it was pretty hard, and I was kind of worried. At this point we remembered that we couldn’t go back through the back gate, and had to go all the way around (about 3 miles) to the front gate. I was mad that we would have to drive longer than we had originally thought, but agreed we should go anyway.
While driving down the road, it came to my attention that weed would be a good idea. I called my dealer, who was also my friend T from before who decided not to trip with us, and he laughed. He knew C and I were tripping and put his friend W on the phone to talk to us. They both told us to be careful, since driving while tripping is never a good idea. After failing to convince them to drive any further, they told us that we would have to drive into town (about 5 miles from where we were) to get any bud. After much consideration we thought it would be worth it and went along with it.
The lights on the dashboard were constantly changing hues and the sensation of movement was ever stimulating. The drive into town was a fun one. I, at that point, realized that I was “shroomin’” to say the least. I wanted to stick my head out the window, but C said that we didn’t need to get pulled over at a time like this. I agreed and we continued to drive. We finally reached the meeting place, but T and W were not there. We just kept driving around in circles, hoping they would come out. I called them and they said they were on there way. We continued circling and every turn felt like a roller coaster.
When we got around to the entrance again, two cops drove by. We freaked out and agreed that we really didn’t need any weed. We called back T and told him about the cops, and he told us that it was best not to get anything at that time. We then drove back to my development. On the way back we saw yet another cop on the side of road and got scared again.
When we reached the gate, my friend pulled up and said “I’m dropping him off.” I couldn’t stop laughing, and finally we were allowed to pass. I then said we should stop driving and that maybe P’s wasn’t a good idea since so many people would be there. We turned around and parked in the lot of a mini mall in front of my development. C managed to park right in front a light, and I was kind of angry at his decision. C said he was tired and pretty much done tripping, so he laid down on the seat and tried to go to sleep. I, however, had just peaked and was in store for quite a treat.
Chapter 5: Doors were opening
I laid back in the seat and put my hood over my eyes. I was treated with some extraordinary visuals. Many repeated images of eyes were integrated into my CEV’s, as well as an occasional appearance by George Washington. He had on the stern face of the one dollar bill, and seemed to be disagreeing with what I was doing. I didn’t care, and just melted into pure ecstasy.
I got up and went into the back seat. Since my seat was all the way down, there was very little room. I had no time to get uncomfortable and would just nod off every couple seconds for minutes. The visuals were getting better and better, and the Doors were enhancing the experience tenfold. I just smiled and enjoyed the ride. I got up again and C asked what I was doing. I told him to fold up the seat so I would have more room, and he did. I then fell into a daze again with my head against the back seat. I saw so many amazing visuals it was ridiculous. I was not expecting such vivid CEV’s. I saw two edges of boxes, creating a valley in the middle. On the surface of these boxes were repeated eyes images. The texture, however, was flowing off the edges into the valley. I also got many tunnels of light similar to that from the end of 2001: A Space Odyssey. It was incredible, and the Doors matched up perfectly with what was going on. My mind was racing at million miles a minute. I thought of so much and the ability of my mind seemed endless. Thoughts were being stacked on top of thoughts which were being stacked upon by more thoughts. I had so many opinions and ideas going on at once that it brought a huge grin on my face. I loved every minute of this true psychedelia.
I sat up again and quickly went back into a daze with my hood over my face. I saw more eyes and a couple of George Washingtons, while the Doors connecting with me in a way they never have before. I was so happy and then got up again. I wanted to fold down the seats, but couldn’t figure out how and nodded off yet again. More impressive and colorful CEV’s, as well as many auditory hallucinations mixed in with the music.
I got up and went out of the car around to the front seat. I was still mad about the light and was quite thirsty. I yelled at C to get me a coke, but he didn’t want to. He told me to get my own and I retorted with “I’m in no condition to do such a thing.” This went on for some time until he finally drove about 300 feet to the 7-11 in the mini mall. After much debating, I told him to get me a Vanilla Coke, and handed him my money. I was dazed out of it while waiting and looked at the people in their cars with great curiosity. He finally came out, handed me my coke along with my 20 dollar bill I had handed him. I said thanks and he just told me to buy him a soda next time. I agreed and we drove back to the parking lot.
We parked in a better spot with no lights directed into my face and I drifted into another daze. Eyes were appearing all around and my mind went back into overdrive. This was the most enjoyable part for me, as I once again felt an unlimited ability to think freely. I could think a thousand thoughts at once. I thought about all the other people I knew who’d be tripping that night, and about P’s house, and about anything. It was very empowering and I truly understood the word “trip” at this point. I got so much pleasure out of my very active brain and it made the happiest I have ever been. I kept going into and out of these intense thought sessions. C was amazed I was still tripping, and went into the back seat.
Chapter 6: Down and out
After my plateau was over, I started to slowly descend back into the real world. It took quite some time, and every discussion with C was quickly followed by another intense thought session. I then claimed that John T. Terwilliger was creating a conspiracy and he is the one who made those fences. C was laughing and continued to at most everything I said, including the phrase “See ya’ next fall.” He picked up his cellphone and called A, saying that I was still tripping. I could here A laugh over the phone, and laughed as well. I then said “Can I borrow your phone?”
C said “Why?”
I responded “I need to call God… ‘cus I lost my brain.”
C burst out laughing and felt bad that he was the only one who would ever hear me say that. I laughed too, and then C called K. He told K what I had just said and I again heard laughing over the phone. K was at P’s, and C said he sounded pretty disappointed, not to mention P didn’t want anyone else over. We said fuck it and just laid there.
I kept on tripping on the come down and more intense thinking was still going on. I was loving it and realized that once it was over I would be back to normal thought patterns again. I didn’t want it to last forever and got comfort out of knowing it would be over in a bit.
We then noticed that our friends J and D were driving around the lot fucking around in their cars. We laughed at the fact that they got so much entertainment out of it. We hoped they didn’t realize that it was C’s car and then come and bother us. They never did, but continued dragging down the parking lot.
We also saw a group of cars and heard subs pounding. C said they were “thumpin’” and I then said “Of course, it’s a thumpdown!” C laughed and I continued my journey through the depths of my own mind.
I would occasionally “come back” and talk to C before going back into deep thought. He was still curious as to why I was tripping. I, at that point, realized that it was the pizza that caused me to trip so long. I hated it before, but was now convinced it was a “capsule” that controlled the release of “Silly-cybin” into my brain. C laughed and told me that silly-cybin wasn’t a real chemical. I said “So!” and went back into wonderland.
As I kept coming back into the real world, I was curious as to when I would be done tripping. C was still laughing at me and I told him “The rims of that car over there are my reality check. I keep glancing at them to see if they are changing size.”
C asked “Are they?”
I responded “Absolutely!”
He laughed and continued to wait until I came down. I finally did and asked him what time it was. He said 11:00, and I was shocked. Those 4 hours seemed like an instant, but in its own way an eternity. I said we needed a place to go and suggested going back to my house. The same guy was still at the gate, and let us through. We both agreed he was oblivious to our previous state.
We reached my house and I really had to go to the bathroom. I couldn’t wait and just went behind my car in the driveway. C laughed and then did the same. I walked into my house and popped my head into my mom’s room. She woke up and greeted me. I then went back downstairs, occasionally stopping and having relapses of my trip, which were quite fun.
I grabbed what was left of a bottle of cranberry juice and we headed downstairs into my basement. I stopped right in front of the doorway, still getting some sensations. C yelled at me to turn on the light and I finally did. We walked downstairs and had a seat.
I stared into my cranberry juice, remembering all the great feelings I had while I was peaking, and C laughed at me. We then sat and talked about life in general, while I mentioned I still had some lingering visuals. It seemed like someone sprinkled confetti all over the ceiling and the floor would cave into itself if I focused on it. We talked until 1:00 am, and then C went home. What a night
I was very very pleased with mushrooms and most definitely want to try them again. I very well understand the mind revealing experience of it all, and was amazed with what my brain was capable of while I was tripping. I got only 6 hours of sleep, went to work for 2 hours, and came back home to go to sleep. I woke up at 2:30 pm with a terrible headache. I could barely do anything, tried to make myself some food, but was overcome with nausea. My headache continued for another hour, and then faded away.
Well, to be honest, I had always wanted to try mushrooms. They are quite difficult to get around here, so when they do come around, they sell out very quickly.
