Why are we collecting donations?
Primarily the funds raised will be going towards our hosting costs. These costs are quite high as Bluelight is a big and busy site and we are hosted in the Netherlands. Any remaining funds will go towards our incorporation as a charitable entity, as well as our fight against the proposed Internet Filtering laws in Australia which could effectively end Australian's access to our site.
Do I have to open an AlertPay account to make donations?
Yes, you must register an account to send funds through AlertPay. You can do this as you make your donation through AlertPay.
What methods can I use to make a donation through AlertPay?
You can use Money Order, Certified Check, Bank Transfer or Bank Wire to deposit funds into AlertPay. You can also use a credit card as a fund source by adding the card to your AlertPay account.
If I pay by credit card, what will appear on my credit card statement?
Something discreet, like the following: ALERTPAY.COM 514-716-5774*, there will be no mention of Bluelight.
I selected to pay with Australian Dollar (AUD), how come I cannot select AUD as the Billing Currency?
AlertPay only allows credit cards to be billed in US Dollar, Pound Sterling and Euro. Your donation will be converted to the equivalent value of the billing currency selected and debited from your credit card.
Can I cancel a subscription?
You can cancel a subscription at any time by following these instructions.
What details are recorded when I donate?
Whatever details you provide to AlertPay will be recorded against your donation, only the site owner can access these details. Your BL username is also saved against the donation, we may use this in future if we set up a page to publicly list which users have donated. If you do not want your username recorded against your donation, please check the box to make your donation anonymously. If you donate whilst logged out of Bluelight, your donation will also be anonymous.
