The Front Page>Police stop more than 1 million people on street
RecklessWOT 01:54 23-10-2009
The police are nothing more than a government endorsed GANG. If you don't do what they say, they chain you up. If you run from them, they beat your ass. If you defend yourself against them, they KILL you. They take all my money, and I'd better follow their rules "if i know what's good for me". How is that any different that any other violent/ criminal street gang besides the fact that they occasionally half-assed-ly protect the people who follow their rules if they find it convienent. which even then I guess is sort of like the mob. Fuck the polic, I hate you. Cops are shit. Seriously, I used to think there were some cool cops out there, some normal guys, but now that I think of it even just signing up to be an officer makes you shit by default. Who do you think you are? How is it your personal responsibility to make sure I do what's "legal"? and they probably all break more laws than I do. Oh man I'm actually mad now lol I could go on about this but I won't. It's not worth my getting worked up over

I currently live in Boston, and this has never happened to me when I was alone. It did however happen to me and my friends when we were walkin around the city .. roxbury crossing / roxbury . There was 5 of us, and I was the only white kid.. rest were black.. They, fully marked car with two cops in it, pulled up right next to us on the side of the road and made it obvious that they wanted us to stop. We stopped... they got out.. and then they started heavy grillin us. They asked each of us many times if they could search us, but as I saw the cop car pullin up i told my friends no matter what don't consent to a search. So, since none of us were doing any wrong, none of us consented to a search. I don't even remember if any of us had anything on us, but I didn't want to be searched any way (stand up for/with my rights.) The police threatened dogs, but after each of us disagreeing with the search multiple times they got agitated and sped off. I tried asking them for their names / badge numbers, but they weren't havin that.

This is my only instance of this happening , or hearing of it happen to any of my friends. I really can't believe this though; Reasonable suspicion, what the fuck is that. Probable cause can still be interpreted in many a fucked up manner, but this is even more ludicrous. This definitely needs to stop.

I told him that would be impossible, because it's my parents car, and I don't have anything (truth)! He asked to search and I told him the line I've always got in the back of my head "I don't consent to a warrantless search of my private property." He told me he could call the drug dogs and I told him to go ahead but I'd appreciate it if he would write my ticket and send me on my way as I had places to be. He told me "that isn't going to happen" and we waited. Dog came to the car, they had it circle around it about 10 times. Cop comes back to the car to do something and I asked him if the dog alerted. He tells me no but that they are going to search anyway because he can smell marijuana.

What the fuck!? I couldn't fucking believe it. Do I have my fourth amendment right to refuse?

He proceeded to search the car and found a little bit of xanax on my buddy, which he had a prescription for, and hauled him downtown for it. No marijuana. Not an ash, not a roach, not a little crumb of bud. Nothing. I talked to my lawyer and he basically told me there isn't much he can do about it. I did file a complaint with the Iowa State Patrol, talked to a lieutenant, he didn't seem to care much, but did say he would look into it and get back to me.

All they have to do is say they smell marijuana in a traffic stop people. It doesn't matter if they have evidence to the contrary and a refusal. If they want to search, they will. I didn't know it had come to that but apparently it has.
That is ridiculous. Every aspect. After the dog didnt point to anything you still got taken down, and even though your friend had a script for the xanax, he got taken down. I cant believe this. Sorry bout that brotha.. shit has happened like that to me before, but not to that extent.

Yeah it did suck. I have court on Wednesday morning just to prove the Xanax belonged to me. Such a fucking inconvenience. I have to miss class and everything. Fuck.

I've been stopped and patted down by the cops a few times in my hometown but they never found anything. I was always fairly well dressed, but guess i hung out with too many psy-heads so they always tryed to find the doses on me... the last time it happened before i moved away I was so rude with them they almost wanted to take me to the station but they had no reason to, I was wearing basketball shorts and a tshirt so had NOTHING on me. But they were still dicks lol, they actually searched the area round my dilznick to see if anythin was taped to it.

Cops go where they feel there is work, they stop who they feel will give them work. And tell me now, I'm Latino, (ex-illegally, back in home-country now) and they've stopped me before. Never searched me. But have stopped me numerously. Over little things of being in the wrong place at the wrong time (fights, out at 3AM, recent scene of a crime, notorious places) but they've let me go. I'm only 14 so thats why I'm on the edge cause I'm afraid of the the police would do to my parents, instead of letting me take the wrath. I've never had anything bad on me. Only 3 times I have had pot, before they eased up on the laws, but all less than 1 gram. Never got caught with it. You do know that it's not to do with color, even though most colored (brown + darker) DO do it. And how do they USUALLY dress? That has been my case. But I dress not as suspicious, and just look like a nice, relaxful, chill Latino, in some preppy clothes. Nothing to it, but I love pot, drinking, and alot of stupid things. If you don't want the cops to bother you, stop making yourself look suspicious, then blaming them. If your of color, and need to watch your back MORE. Then do so. Skaters too, yeah, THOSE whites aren't fooling anyone just because of their skin. But well, the US is moving closer to being fully open minded, and well, I don't mind it.

Hey man I feel you. I deal with some of the most notoriously corrupt government, and law enforcement in the world. Brazil's. Here, they are allowed to use brutal force and are looked upon as heros until it hits close to home. I have thousands of story of just my 20 yr. old cousin. Let alone my entire set of 11 aunts & uncles (criminals too, especially uncle Bio, and uncle Titi) and THOSE peoples' kids, almost 3 for each one. My oldest cousin is 38. And because of my uncle's old ways. They have a vandetta against us. They shoved a kilo of crack in my cousins pocket (and straight told him, AND the news) that he 'looked like the type, so it was best to just take him off the streets' and the PD agreed. So in the town it's been war. Police attacks the Venturas, the Venturas retaliate. Luckily they are afraid of uncle Bio. When he dies, it's going to be sickening.

As we speak, I'm sure the founding fathers of America are turning in their graves... for a number of reasons. The corruptness of the police in America and throughout the world is indeed a problem, and as said earlier, the police are a federally funded and protected gang. They have a quota of arrests per month, which shows that they are out to get us (especially at the end of the month). Not to go off on some war story rant, but the number of times that I have had run ins with the police, i have been told things like "you have no rights" and "who the f*** do you think you are, a lawyer?" (after having told them they couldnt search my car. Basically, the cops can do whatever the hell they want. They abuse their power, and even if it isn't constitutional, it will hold up in court most of the time. All they have to do is lie, and then they can get you. I was not aware that probable cause got lowered to reasonable suspicion. Now, even more so than before, if the cops want you, they'll get you. I don't understand how we taxpayers just take it up the butt like this. Essentially we are paying the government to pay these pigs to pull us over, make us late for work, and in the end waste a lot of productivity for court fees, and time. They are robbing us of our livelihood. Of course there are some things the cops can do alright, but for the most part, they get people on technicalities, and minor offenses that have little bearing on the rest of the general public. In the news we hear of girls that've just been found after 18 years in captivity even with a parole officer going to the captor's house. What are they doing? I firmly believe that if, as a nation, we started putting more money into education, and less into law enforcement, we would be well off. (of course this would have to be gradual).

The police force is a business. America is super fucked up. The cops don't care about safety, they care about money and making arrests. It kinda says something about the common american dream, (i believe someone said earlier) the pursuit of profit.

I've been arrested before after getting searched for having a busted tail light. i wasnt doing anything to harm anyone, just getting some bk. i wasnt even intoxicated. they claimed smell was probable cause (it is not and won't hold up in court) however, they brought the dogs. yes, i had an eighth on me, but i do almost every day, and its not a problem then. After they brought the dogs i knew i was fucked, so i just gave up trying to be respectful, and the cops just got high with power demeaning me and shoving me around. They are cowards. They arrest people for petty things that almost everyone does daily, just so they can meet their quota.

I live in the chicagoland, and a few years ago there was a cop who shot his ex-wife's husband something like 12 times and killed him, and then the charged got dropped because he claimed it was self defence. Recently, he beat down a mentally handicapped child for not tucking in his shirt, and also sexually assaulted a 15 year old.

http://www.chicagobreakingnews.com/2...pe-charge.html

What are the common people of america going to do about this. I feel as though the federal govt. is not unlike the brits in colonial times. When are we going to have had enough. The direction we are headed does not look good, and at some point or another something has to happen. Will it be totalitarianism, or something better?

I noticed a lot of people say they have brass knuckles on here. I know in my state they are considered a deadly weapon so possessing them is technically the same as having an illegal knife or a gun without a permit. My sister got busted with brass knuckles and did a month in jail for having them. This is in TX.

She got a month in jail for brass knuckles in texas???

Im in the midwest and i have a friend who was caught with brass knuckles in school and he got a minor suspension from school and no legal punishment. Im just curious to how a conservative state like TX would give out such a harsh sentence for a weapon charge.

Just a question...

How many times has a cop ever helped you personally?
Even if you asked?

Me- Zero. Zip. Nada

Rule of thumb, take care of yourself, don't do anything stupid, and if you happen to see a piggy, get away from it.
