Like others have suggested in this thread, the whole 6-APB thing is increasingly looking like a total scam. I can't, after NRG1 and the BMJ analysis, understand why anyone would trust these bastard vendors, official or otherwise - or buy into any of this hype. Do we know for sure that the 'official' samples were 6-APB? Could they not have been some (perhaps partially concealed, for reagent purposes: not all that difficult, I suspect) obscure MDXX, intended to befuddle users into belief in this obscure wonder drug, and yes, set up a pre-sold public to accept whatever crap they bundle into 'pellets'? You DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE BUYING FROM ANY OF THESE PEOPLE, and some of it is obviously dangerous.

I think this whole community is being manipulated into circulating the hype. I think the only 'harm reduction' course of action is to boycott any and all involved with this crap, and just accept that the stim market, legal and otherwise, in this country, is as fucked as a trafficked Soho hooker with HIV, syphillis and an Albanian pimp. It needs time to readjust - and that won't happen unless we boycott the garbage sold as 'coke' and 'legal highs'.

Of course, it's easy for me to say that - I went off stimulants some time ago, other than occasional MDMA/MDA, and I'll only trust one very reliable source where they're concerned. Other than that and weed, I won't touch anything that isn't pharmaceutical any more.

I was curious about 6-ABP: this thread's killed that curiosity, save at a forensic level.

Those mice are getting 60mg per kg of benzofuran every day. So for me that's 5300mg. That's quite a lot...

BigFishLittleFish, I think that paper refers only to the individual molecule benzofuran (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benzofuran) itself. Although 6-APB has a benzofuran ring in it, it is considerably more complex than a single benzofuran molecule, and so it is impossible to say how similar the effects of the two substances are.

That paper may be of some use, as it might be possible to infer certain things about the effects of 6-APB from the information it gives about the effects of benzofuran, but you'd need someone with a far better understanding of chemistry than me to tell you exactly what.

6-apb is not benzofuran, the same rules do not apply to it.

there is no LD50 for 6-apb because it has never been experimented with.
