Dxo

I had always heard that codeine style molecules could always be o-demethylated using a strong acid. But the hive says that this isn't the case(atleast with codeine) because of some reaction on the morphinan ring will produce apomorphine and not morphine.
My question is... is this only the case with codiene or does this also apply to other codiene type molecules like DXM. I've always wanted to know what pure DXO was like. Could the report on Erowid which didn't seem all that impressive be a result of an improper synth? Naturally I would suspect that being that both codeine and DXM are weak opiates/NMDA antagonists and morphine/DXO are MUCH stronger, then naturally I would think acetylating DXO as in morphine>heroine would be a really potent K like dissociative this idea what shot down for no apparent reason but it seems totally logical to me.

This is a lot of synthesis discussion. See the reaction mechanisms for what you're referring to and also electrophilic addition for why codeine can't undergo these reaction types.

The ester would be easy to make, but I haven't heard anything about it. I'm sure it's a known compound.

how weird that DXO is schedule I, i had no idea. another little hiccup in the scheduling system, anyone who has ever consumed robitussin has (bio)synthesized a schedule I drug and trafficed it in their bladder.

The interpretation of the law is very selective when it comes to chemicals, or else any citizen could be prosecuted for carrying around morphine and DMT between their ears.

Alot of street E is adulterated with methamphetamine. Drug policy is a mess to begin with, and media coverage is even worse, so it's entirely possible that they were referring to E pills adulterated with meth....

I would've loved to try pure DXO - I'm CYP2D6 enzyme deficient so I don't experience any effects from DXO when I would take DXM. Making DXO is unfortunately something that is far out of my ability to do

You produce none of this enzyme? How have you established this?

I suspect I am also deficient, but this was because I get a longer and more intense trip on DXM than is normal.

You say you get no effects from DXO, but do you still get symptoms from the DXM?

You'd have to talk to a doctor to have it tested.
