AMT vs 5-MeO-AMT

Hey guys, having read reports on both these substances and trying (and enjoying) plain-jade AMT I am curious... Could you tell the difference in effects between say 40-50mg of AMT and 4-5mg of 5-MeO-AMT? Do these drugs both have a different "feel" to them or is 5-Meo-AMT just plain old superpowerful AMT?

AMT is an interesting if somewhat uninspiring psychedelic. 5-MEO-AMT is like a concentrated version of all of AMT's bad side effects.
Personally I would recommend doing your research with other substances.

I can't vouch for 5meo-AMT but I can can tell you that I have enjoyed AMT very much. I find that the nausea is compensated by the long duration (which I like), the depth, and the amazing visuals. I don't feel the urge to do it more than a couple of times a year, but I find it a worth while RC nonetheless.

About the same difference as between DMT and 5-MeO-DMT ie one is way more potent than the other and they are fundamentally different drugs.
If you're gonna take 5-MeO-AMT as an AMT substitute, you're in for a very rough, unpleasant and uncomfortable surprise.
5-MeO-AMT is basically a very heavy duty psychedelic experience.

Yeah... just because they both have "AMT" in their name and share a molecular base doesn't mean that they're different versions of the same drug. They are two different things. I haven't tried 5-MeO-AMT... but I can say that the differences between DMT and 5-MeO-DMT are extreme, and that the two are probably the LEAST similar tryptamines I've ever had. If the difference between AMT and 5-MeO-AMT is anywhere near as big as the difference between DMT and 5-MeO-DMT, then you can expect them to be virtually nothing alike.

5-MeO-AMT, but I couldn't find nearly as much info about it as I could AMT.

i have tried 5-meo-amt and it was really good with no negative side effects really. the only bad part was a headache at the tail of end of it and it was difficult to sleep for 11 hours after injesting it.

5-meo-amt simply doesnt have the history amt does. There just isn't much information on it, and there aren't very many people who have tried it.

5meo amt is heavy, with mental and physical effects that are hardcore to say the least. I experienced a thick headache after it, and while comping up, i felt very uneasy in my stomach. But the hallucinations were more intense...also, ive had friends try it and puke their guts out
2 different people told me while they were puking they were sure that they were going to die, but after they vomiited they were fine.

AMT & 5MEO-AMT are really fairly different. I’ve done both maybe 5 times; AMT (at a psychedelic dose 85-100mg) has some visuals a little bit like lsd & some vaguely mdma like effects that have some validity but overall it’s like an overdose of chlorpromazine & prozac with perhaps a can or two of ‘Duff’ for good measure. If your 20 & want to know how you’ll feel when your 100 the come down is a great learning experience.
Like AMT you puke early on in a 5MEO-AMT experience & immediately feel fine after. There is usually a loose stool early on too (just once – unlike the laxadelic 5MEO-DIPT). After that There’s a strong euphoria and powerful visuals. It’s much more fun, much more social/mentally clear/introspective/philosophical than AMT and you can actually move about etc. There can be a headache – no worse than AMT but over all the side effects of AMT are less or completely absent. I’ve not noted much of a come down either unlike AMT. It was good/worth doing AMT a couple of times but I won’t touch it again. 5MEO-AMT I will take again since it was far more rewarding/useful.

I just wanted to add that I've taken 40mgs of AMT along with others. And it was a HUGE leap over 30mgs.
40mgs of AMT was about as psychedelic as it gets. Mentally, I was mostly uneffected. But visually it was entirely insane. One of the more prominent visual trips I've had. It took about 3 hours to really kick in, then kept going on and on for another 8 hours. I was unable to sleep for about 16 hours in all. And like others have said, the comedown was HORRIBLE. One of the worst comedowns I've had from any drug or combination of drugs. Infact I was even twitching, which completely unnerved me and I'd never even consider doing it ever again. Not worth it, IMO.

amt and 5meoamt are nothing alike. another name for 5meoamt is alpha-O DiMethylSerotonin. it is an unselective 5HT agonist. essentially the theory behind its design was to create an artificial serotonin that can pass the blood-brain barrier and not get broken down by MAO very quickly.
i havent tried a-O DMS yet, but i'd definately say one could tell the difference between it and AMT with ease.

Not to be nitpicky but the chemical gets broken down by MAO, not MAOI. Judging from your response, I'm sure that's what you meant; just a little clarification to ensure not to confuse anyone.

5-meo-amt is really fun, but i haven't tried it lately due to the pure lasting power it has. i could not sleep for about 14 hours after injestion which really puts a cramp in your schedule! plus, that damn headache you get is shitty, but the trip is so worth it.
